Alexandra Silocea was in the studio in East Sussex early in September making her debut recording. The young Romanian pianist, who studied first in Bucharest and later in Vienna, was introduced to record label Avie by the late John Barnes, the producer who worked behind the scenes at Glyndebourne and recorded every production for the company's archives. His successor at Glyndebourne, Sebastien Chonion, is producing Silocea's album of Prokofiev's Piano Sonatas Nos 1-5, due for release in 2011.
